Kundalini yoga - which yoga style is right for you? - picture - Women's Health & Fitness

Kundalini yoga is often called ‘the yoga of awareness’. No two kundalini classes are the same, but many emphasise breath (sometimes forceful breath, where air is sucked in and out rhythmically) and different kinds of movement, not just asana. It focuses on the ‘life force’ at the base of the spine, often conceptualised as a curled up, sleeping serpent.

The practice of Kundalini yoga is meant to wake this serpent, causing it to rise through all the chakras, resulting in a healthier, happier existence.
