High sodium meat

Think fast food, deli meat and packaged savoury foods. According to the U.S Food and Drug Administration around 75% of our sodium intake comes from eating packaged food. Think cured meats like bacon, ham and salami, or the meat in prepared frozen foods like meat pies and crumbed chicken. Even preserved fish like smoked salmon, some canned fish, anchovies and so on. A high-sodium diet will increase fluid retention in your tummy as well as drawing water into your bloodstream, causing hypertension.
